1. On a mission
Coracle founder James Tweed FICS joined ICS Director Alan Phillips and over 100 British business delegates in a UK Trade and Investment trade mission to Dubai last week (November 27).
The delegation, led by the UK Business Ambassador, Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham, was designed to assist UK companies seeking to explore opportunities in the Middle East/North Africa.
With a mix of business workshops, panel discussions and one-to-one meetings on opportunities across the Middle East and North Africa, the event was a fantastic opportunity to discuss the importance of eLearning in the transport industry.
2. Port news on the move
There’s now even more digital shipping knowledge to digest at www.shippingpodcasts.com.
The latest edition to the podcast family sees specialist ports and terminal magazine Port Strategy delivering timely audio on a backdated rates row in the UK which threatens to put hundreds of port-based companies out of business. Look out for more port-related podcasts soon!
The port podcasts join the regular audio line-up covering law, currency, employment and more, giving you an easy-to-digest update of the hot topics in today’s shipping industry.
Click to listen on your computer, or download the files to your MP3 player to listen to them on the move.
Better yet, sign up through iTunes, choose the podcasts that you’re interested in and the latest files will be downloaded to your computer or MP3 player whenever you log-in.
3. Bring in the experts
For that little extra study help, why not add tutored support to your eLearning bundle to give you access to our team of experienced tutors?
Our tutors have clocked up decades of shipping knowledge and experience and can explain the quirks of the industry in layman’s terms.
