And the winners are

Coracle is delighted to announce that three of our students have been rewarded from their hard work and determination in this year’s ICS exams. Mike Shakesheff, Jeff Steel and Alice Telling are all 2008 prize winners and will be awarded their prizes at a special ceremony in London later this month.
Mike excelled in Legal Principles and Jeff enjoyed success in Port Agency, while Alice won the prize for highest overall marks.
Many congratulations to the trio and to all Coracle students that passed their exams this year.
Details of all exam results and prize winners may be found on the ICS website here

Listen and learn

Don’t forget to check out www.shippingpodcasts.com for up-to-the-minute commentary on legal issues, currency fluctuations and oil market commentary, among other topics.

Listen as an audio file on your computer, or download the files to your MP3 player to listen to them on the move. Better yet, sign up through iTunes, choose the podcasts that you’re interested in and the latest files will be downloaded to your computer or MP3 player whenever you log-in.

Information Highway

It’s not enough to study the detail of the ICS syllabus when preparing for examinations; syllabus topics must be combined with ‘real life’ information for students to optimise their learning experience.

Reading the maritime trade newspapers and magazines regularly will help supplement the syllabus, as will signing up to www.shippingpodcasts.com.

Here at Coracle we want our students to excel in their examinations so we have also created a new info-Alert service for students. Each month we are asking our tutors to write a commentary on our syllabus topics, giving you the practical information you need to apply the knowledge you have gained from Coracle study.

September’s info-Alert looks at the Liner Trades with tutor Ravindra Galhena examining how high fuel prices are affecting the lines is available here

Soak up the information, courtesy of Coracle and our expert tutors, and build on your education experience.
